Thanks for sharing. I have a question. My car shakes when it's cranked, and then it goes off shortly after. There's a loud crackling sound when it's cranked. I've already had my spark plugs, fuel injectors radiator fan, battery and engine checked & everything works fine, or so I was told. Any other ideas?

I have a 2008 Porsche Cayenne and for a while now I noticed that my steering wheel vibrates a little bit at high speeds I need a little wheel alignment recently I got my coolant topped off and 3 days later my car makes this bad rumbling sound like griding sound when I accelerate I can feel the vibration on my right elbow resting on the center console (where the cup holders are and the USB port and all that stuff) idk if the wheel alignment lead to this or the axel is damaged or the transmission drive bar is broken but it sounds horrible at times only when I accelerate vibrates and rumbles. Anybody know what might be wrong with my car?

@ : Lisandrom, I also have a 2009 Cayenne, and experienced the same problem you described at about 130k miles. In short, your cardan (drive) shaft is in need of replacement. This is a common problem with Cayenne's. Typcially, symptoms of a failed drive shaft will happen at 75k miles or more. The first sign that the drive shaft is failing, you will feel a vibration at low speed acceleration. Eventually, the shaft (the bearing) will become so loose that you'll hear it clunking loudly and smacking the underside of the vehicle, which energy will be transferred through to the center console, which is what you are feeling. The good news is that it can be fixed. The bad news is that the cost to replace the cardan (drive) shaft is $1200-$1600, depending on where the work is performed.

my daughters car started vibrating very badly in the front. So bad that it does what is called the suicide crawl. Has vibrated right off the road a few times. Doesn't do it regularly either.

Hi, I've just got my car back from the garage after an MOT, and now it has engine vibrations through the steering wheel at idle. It is less noticeable when driving, because the engine is doing other things, however it is still noticable. Why is this? Many thanks. Claire
