what is the ratio of water to baking soda? I used it on end table and coffee table but may have used too strong a mixture as it left a white film. Haven't seen an ant on them since using it.

@ : To spray, use equal parts of them. You can also try adding powered sugar to mix which serves as a bait and then the baking soda will get rid of them.

Here is a tip that works. While you are combating them to keep them out or off of an item like a soda can, or drink glass or really anything that might be sitting for a little. Take a q-tip or your finger and use liquid Anbesol. Put a thin ring around the bottom or middle of the can/glass etc they avoid it and keeps what you are drinking or snacking on ant free.

I put straight baking soda around my dogs bowl and the sugar ants have a line walking straight through it.

Thanks to this site my ant problem is solved. I used the idea of the cloves I didn't have fresh cloves but I did use oil of cloves which I had left over from a recent tooth ache, what I did was put 4 drops of oil in all the Window frames and door frames and each day that I mop my floors add 6 drops into the water it works a treat, when I finish mopping my floors I take the water I have in the mop bucket and pour it on my paving bricks outside which has stopped the ants from making nests in my paves. It may be a little expensive but we'll worth it.
