Whenever you stop smoking make sure to stop completely. After a few days don't think "let me have just one" coz that one will lead you to another. Read the book "Easy Way to Stop Smoking" by Allen Carr. That will atleast help you think in the right direction. Smoking is just nicotine addiction and psychological need. I have been stopping but again starting. This time I think I have stopped for good. It is just a week as of now but I feel I will not start again. It really feels better, more energetic and I am able to concentrate better. All the best to you guys.

Running every morning helped me to quit for nine years. Stress brought me back to smoking so I have to do it again. I have to find something else to help when I get stressed. Tomorrow I am getting up and running. Hopefully it will work again.

I have quit smoking for 2 months now and it's a struggle because every now and then I get the urge to smoke I did the nicotine patch and it's been about 5 days with out it , what helped me the most is i have a friend that quit the same time as me and we talk about it over the phone and it has helped me overcome my habits

Three weeks ago I was diagnosed with pneumonia and stopped smoking cold turkey. I do not want to substitute food for when I get the urge to smoke so when I do get that urge I get a bottle of water and drink that right down. That seems to satisfy the urge. The only thing that is still difficult is if I have a cocktail I miss that cigarette with it. I also put the stop smoking app on my phone. It calculates how many hours/days I have been smoke free, how much money I have saved not buying cigarettes and how many cigarettes I have not smoked is a huge help!

Plan ahead. Clear schedule for as long as possible or about a week from quitting day. Leading up to quitting day, cut back on sleep. Maybe an hour a day less, for about a week. The night before stay awake as long as possible. Continue smoking till going to bed. Take an approved and safe otc sleep aide. The first day is done.
