Your graphic of the hands measuring a horse is wrong. Hands are sideways. A hand is four inches because that is the approximate measurement of four fingers (of a man sized hand) side by side.

Also you item on white horses is incorrect. The horses you are talking about are grey. In particular you mean the lippizaners, and other Spanish breeds that have the black to near white color progression. However, there are also white horses, albino horses, and the grey horses that do not start as black at all, but may indeed end up near white as they age. There is a deadly white gene that kills most white horses, but there are also true white horses - we in NZ have just had at least 3 true white horses born in the last few years at thoroughbred studs. Very, very rare - but true.
