    I'd add osmanthus and choisia for their scent and crinodendron for shadier spots.

    And, getting carried away a bit, for winter scent plant Sarcococcus confusa near somewhere you regularly pass in winter. It's tolerant of shade and flowers around February with a scent like Daphne. For a novel evergreen try Sophora microphilla which produces abundant yellow bell-shaped flowers in February/ March. I know dry, shady spots are difficult and Aucuba is one of the few plants that will grow in such a space but if the conditions aren't too bad I'd try Skimmia instead. It has a good scent when it flowers and produces beautiful red berries.
