Hello all you people who are having pain under your right rib cage. I, too, had this happen to me about 3 months ago. Short of breath, couldn't sneeze, yawn or cough without excruciating pain. I went to my doctor and he x-rayed me. Like some of you, nothing was found. Everything was where it should be and was normal. When I asked about some kind of treatment I just got a glazed stare. So I took matters into my own hands and went to a chiropractor that my son said was "awesome". After I explained my situation, that I had been doing a challenging workout at the gym, he checked out my rib cage and the area of soreness. After a thorough examination he said that the joints where the rib meets the sternum were out of kilter and the intercostal muscles were sprained. The ribs are such a complex and critical part of our body, the abdominal muscles hitch in behind the ribs and so everything feels sore if you have sprained ribs. After about 8 visits i began to be able to take deep breaths, and small yawns. Then a couple of days ago i could feel the pain receding and now I am almost free of pain, just a little tender. So the moral of all this is that while doctors may know something about what pills to prescribe and can order all kinds of tests, they know very little of body mechanics. All I took for pain during this time was Advil...no high-priced brain-numbing drugs. I had my first Advil-free night last night. I would strongly urge those of you who are suffering to go to a chiropractor, you will be amazed. VP

I've had severe pain under my rib cage, spreading to my lower tummy for over two years. It's got so bad that a few time I've ended up in A&E. At the moment I am on Codeine and Tramadol, all blood tests have come back clear as has the ultrasound. Eating different foods etc makes no difference at all. I manage to work and look after my family, but every day I am in pain.

I am a 60 yr old white female, for yrs have had severe on and off pain up under my right rib cage. I have been to the E R many, times, I have had CT Scans, Hyda Scans, Xrays, Blood Work every work up in the world by all kinds of specialists. After my latest ER visit at 3am by ambulance April 2016 went back to GI Dr for yet another endoscopy. All they can tell me is I have active Ulcers and that is what is causing the severe pain worse than childbirth. I have been on protonix for a few yrs for ulcers helped at first now not so much. Yesterday after the testing the GI dr added a liquid drug called Carafate to be taken 4 times a day to coat the stomach. No pain relief yet. I must also add I have been tested for kidney stones, gall bladder, costochronditis, everything and nothing shows up. Altho a fatty liver in present which the GI dr does not think is causing the severe pain. I just don't know I have been suffering for so many yrs, adapted my diet, do not drink or smoke, eat before i take my daily meds yadda yadda. Prior biopsies of endoscopy show NO H pylori, no cancer, etc. So we will wait another seven days for this new biopsy, and see if this Carafate helps at all. Good luck to all I can relate and wish there was a simple answer. dfarmer9 from 22514

Hi Debbie from May 3rd! My name is Debbie/Debra also. I am 56yrs old and reading your paragraph which, was like reading about myself! I can't find out what's going on with me either! It's so frustrating and exhausting! I'm sorry that you are dealing with the same symptoms! I'm comforted to know that I'm not the only one yet, not good that we can't find an answer! I even cold turkeyed all of my meds (doctors don't know yet.), which was like going thru hell for 2 1/2 months and I still have the same problems. I was hoping detoxing from meds could be an answer since like you, I've tried everything else (diet change, etc) and I still have all of the same issues. I got PH strips and I've been all over the internet scouring and can't find any answers. Medical tests, doctors, eating right, exercise/activity, no alcohol/smoking, detox from all meds......I don't know either!!! I pray that we will find the answers and the healings that we need! I pray that we can live a healthy enjoyable happy life! God bless. P.S. I had to talk to someone! Thanx for your paragraph to read! Debra
