I have had upper right quadrant pain for about nine years I call then attacks they come on gradually and within minutes they are so severe it causes me to sweat and vomit I have had mri ct scans ultrasounds liver biopsy colonoscopy an endoscopy they feel like gallbladder attacks but I don't have a gallbladder anymore one doctor was treating me for bleeding ulcers for three years without knowing whether I had bleeding ulcers first I was on three different meds that cause me to become extremely anemic I have cut out beef pork dairy and all medications and still no relief I been to the e.r. so many times as soon as I get there they pump me with morphine and send me home the day I had my liver biopsy I had several attacks in a row they wheeled me from recovery to the e.r. where they again pumped me full of meds and sent me home I want nothing more than to find the reason for it and get it fixed this is no way to live I never know when one will come on and it exhausts me for a few days after

Everyone on here should test their ph level. I am doing the master cleanse to help myself. It is very alkaline.

It first started out of nowhere maybe 2 years ago, the first time I felt the pain it was unbearable and thought i was having a heart attack or something. I made myself go to sleep but I had to sleep upright. It was for one night but months later it happened again and lasted longer. I finally went to the Dr, got xrays etc and nothing so he just told me to take heartburn pills. So for a long time I thought it was that but after consulting with other dr's they said its just a muscle and to take Advil.. I still get it randomly, sharp pain right below my breast- feels like a stabbing pain and no medicine has helped AT ALL .. I made myself throw up at one point thinking it would help but it did nothing.. I just wish someone knew what it was =/

I get a squeezing sensation like I'm stuck in a vice but at the same time I feel like I'm going to explode. Pain & squeezing under my right breast. I live so far away from the hospital that it's gone by the time I get half way there. The only thing I've found to make it go away is eating a huge handful of Tums. Although it doesn't in any way feel like it is coming from my intestinal organs. It feels like my diaphragm is in a spasm or something. The first time it happened I was laying on the couch & suddenly felt sweaty & thought I was having a heart attack.

Since I read a few of these and a lot of the people sound like a version of me so I will tell you what I know. Good luck to you all I have had galbladder problems since I was a teen. My mother explained a lot to me as this was also her problem. Bile and bile stones come from the liver and the gallbladder (which is one of the reasons people who have their gall bladder taken out still get bladder attacks). Bile stones are fatty deposits that do not digest. When you eat a high fat meal if you are prone to gallbladder attacks, you can take a pill called betaine hydrochloride which will increase the hydrochloric acid in your stomach to help you digest. If you have a gallstone or bile stone that is causing pain for a longer period then there are herbs that will he with this. Dandelion, peppermint, nettle, artichoke and a tincture called stone breaker. These will all help with removing the bile stone. All of this information is online and on pinterest. It is not difficult to research how to take care of yourself.

Wow, there are so many different stories here. I myself have pain under the right ribcage as well, but for me it is connected to movement or the lack of it. It all started after a period of hard physical labour, when I was 21,about 5 years ago. At that time I was often running and during the runs it felt like normal side pain coming from wrong breathing. But instead of becoming better it got worse for every time I ran and it came ealier and earlier until it wouldn't stop at all. So Permanent pain from that time on. I stopped running as my doctor believed it to be some muscle strain connected to the previous physical work, but even after months without any straining physical activities I was still in pain. That was when I went through what I call the medical marathon, blood test, Ultrasound, Xrays, CT's, chiropractics, accupuncture etc. but for the doctors I am an absolutely healthy person that just is in pain. They have run out of ideas what to test for and after 5 years I am somewhat accosutmed to the pain and not being able to dance, run, bike etc. But now I'll let my doctor check through everything on the list. Maybe it will finally stop. Thank you

For a year now I've been having right mid back pain and it goes around to the front side of right rib. I had an uultrasound which only showed a slightly dilated bile duct. Primary and gastro doctors were not concerned and said it was not my gallbladder. In October I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy - all was good. They think it's muscular or nerve pain. There are some days I am hurting very bad - when I asked about an MRI or any other tests - they said it wasn't necessary.
