Thank you for posting this article. It just may help give me a diagnosis, if the doctors will listen to me for once. I have TWO really sore, hard lumps behind my right ear. My ear feels like there are bugs way deep inside my ear. It is swollen, and tender inside. ITCHY. Been dealing with one of them for a few years or so. It will swell, then shrink down to almost nothing. it has stayed large for a couple of months or so now. The 2nd one is right below my earlobe. It too, is sore and won't move. I do have Lupus and Hashimoto's Disease. But, I have had a cancerous nodule on the left lobe of my thyroid, ending up in left lobectomy. Why they didn't take the right lobe also, leaves me at risk for another one, and possibly more serious problems, if not caught in time. The doctors here treat me terribly. There are reasons, but they are my PAST. Now, those reasons follow me. I am a human being, and deserve medical treatment like any other person does. I am pretty upset. Thank you again, Miss Alicia.

For a while now I have a pimple like thing behind my ear recently its starting swelling and its also sore as well last night I was bathing and while drying off I realised this lump was leaking out like a yellowish liquid its now more swollen and sore then before what can I do here at home before seeking medical help?

I've noticed that after my cancer was removed from behind my ear about six years ago, I keep having this form of wetness or sweating constantly behind just that ear. Is that a problem that I need to be concern about.

Nicky, any drainage from a lump means infection. You need to go see a doc and get antibiotics and possible incision and drainage. It probably began as a sebaceous cyst or something and became infected. Hope this helps. Danielle B, RN
