Lower left quadrant abdominal pain is a complication that is commonly related to digestion; but there're other causes related to other body parts.

I have the same pain from my teenage . I have observed the pain when i am very excited or anxious and also in normal conditions. I thought it was due to my diet - this shall be wrong because all my family takes same diet (vegetarian) and no other have LLQ. I was a fast runner ( sprinter - not professional). We don't have any physical training or even drill- exercise .Mostly we play cricket ( India ) and I am right handed .After that I injured my right throwing arm at the age of 14 .Which lead me thinking that its body symmetry problem and I never had any resource to make an attempt in this way to build symmetry. I am 28 now I have a different diet ( non vegetarian) and sleeping habits .I took to simple yoga. Now its pretty pretty rare. I attribute LLQ to 1) inappropriate habits (diet , sleep ,excretion and exercise).Very fundamental !! 2)Body symmetry which shall come with habits >sleeping habits and any kind of exercise when we don't have physical training 3)Hormones may be a reason which I am not an expert to speak about. As a science student I have a notion of hormones.Especially Adrenalin - I would like to discuss with some experts 4)When force excreta using stomach muscles which seems a very bad habit may be a cause for LLQ

Hey guys# now I feel that I'm not the only one suffering from LLQ. ITS BEEN MORE THAN 3 YEARS THAT IM HAVING THIS DISCOMFORT ON MY LOWER LEFT OF THE ABDOMEN. I've done many tests like... Endoscopy, colonoscopy, ultrasound, X-rays, enterography. But to my dissatisfaction nothing ever showed up in the tests. Since then I could never enjoy my daily life. I fell a victim to this shithole. Where on earth can I find a cure for this LLQ. it's really embarrassing when the doctors on earth cannot find any solution to this LLQ

someone posted - she was a nurse - to take warm water and add lemon juice - from a real lemon- I just happened to have a lemon - and it worked I mean like instantly my pain was gone - she said it helps the bile work better - bile aids in digestion ?

Don't know if anyone has been on here recently but for those of you suffering from LLQ but nothing is showing up on medical tests, I know how you feel. I was in an out of hospital/my GP almost constantly for about a year until someone actually listened properly to my symptoms and diagnoses it as a slightly more unusual form of IBS. Ever since, I have taken buscopan of colpermin every time I feel pain and it is gone or at least greatly reduced within 10-15 minutes! Works wonders, would definitely suggest it if the scans/tests aren't showing any more serious issues :)

Hello, I have been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis and have had the LLQ on and off for years now. What I wanted to say is that I have realised since my diagnosis that diet is a huge problem and my biggest eye opener was that wheat and gluten and sugar are probably the main causes of all of these global diseases. I have changed my diet, lost too much weight, which I could have done without, but I believe my symptoms are improving. When I do have an attack of left abdominal pain I know it is something I have eaten that has upset the balance. I have had to go back to a blank page many times in the process, and I still don't believe I have it right, but with trial and error I believe I will eventually get there. I have looked at sites like Breaking the Vicious Cycle and Gaps Diet, they have helped quite a bit. Good luck and don't give up hope. Thanks for the Yoga, FODMAP and coffee tip, I am going to give it a try.

A dietary characteristic unique to us stateside Americans is ICE! We put ice in all our beverages, we just assume everything should be on ice and our dear stomachs, and more specifically our intestines... thrive in warm environments. Our gastric acids perform better in warm environments and our hard-working intestines can get down to doing their #1 job description (to process & digest) when not hindered by it's poor clueless host hoisting cold thing after cold thing into the ecosystem. Give your guts a break and cease with the cold drinks. Warm lemon water is your very best friend. I can almost always count on a glass of warm lemon water loosening the tightness in my LLQ [lower left quadrant] and "no ice" is something anyone who dines with me knows I am going to request of my server. Well, that an "no straw" but that's another post for another time. Be well.

I have had pain in my left abdomen for about a year on and off. I finally found the problem after a CT scan when it was very bad. It is EA or epiploic appendagitis. It is not very common and not many doctors are looking for it. A lot of the symptoms seem similar to mine. Localized abdominal pain, not hungry, pain is less if laying down.

I too have this pain that is "nothing." It was only about 1 time a month and worse at that time. I can't wear pants that button because it hurts my stomach/ lower abdomen so badly. I had my gallbladder removed about 5 years ago, while I did have a bad gall bladder, once the anesthesia wore off and out of my body a couple days later the pain came back. Eventually I, just stopped calling the doctors and spending the money to find out what it was/is. I began going on mission trips and watching my diet very very closely. I had a cyst burst after I arrived in Haiti and I thought wow, thank you .. It was fixed. Shortly after I returned the pain came back. Fast forward 2 years and the pain has been sharp and constant feeling like a stabbing localized pulled muscle gut pain. As if my guts are falling out. I wake up every single morning in pain. It is no longer once a month its daily and back to being worse during a certain time. I had an EGD/colonoscopy, a vaginal ultrasound, new meds, and an entirely new diet. All done before my 3rd mission trip this summer, the pain has become so constant and has really slowed me down. I don't feel sick, I would just rather lay down, or eat because sometimes that makes the pain "softer" or go away for a while. I also have a mole in that area, Ive had it checked and its fine but it itches constantly and I can't scratch the itch... It burns, hurts, and makes the pain of wearing pants extremely difficult, even wearing dresses hurts bc its like my abdomen is just hanging there. I did find out I had GERD, but now all that pain is back too... I have a clean bill of health otherwise. But when your constantly told its nothing and the doctors look at you like your crazy, and then they say "pain is a hard thing to find" what do you do..
